I recieved Addy's Trunk for Hanunukah. I think the metal band that goes arount the lower edge of the lid is not attached correctly. On one corner it stands away from the lid about half an inch. I can fit my little finger between the wood and the metal band. On the other corner, the band lies flush against the face of the lid. Is this a defect? Should I try to exchange it?

My trunk's band is flush against the wood on one side and on the other side there is a small gap. It is not big enough to put my finger in. I tend to be fairly picky about things like that and mine is small enough that I probably wouldn't have noticed if you hadn't asked.
I would think that if the gap in yours is going to bother you at all, then I would call AG and have them send you another one. Be sure to tell them to send you a return postage slip so that you can ship this one back without cost.
If it doesn't affect the structure of the trunk and it doesn't really bother you, then I would just forget about it. I imagine her trunk has been handmade so I would think that each one will be slightly different.
